"Sweet Charlie…she has been through so much in her short life.  Yesterday we finally got to see her new Israeli doctor. I face these appointments with some fear…fear that they will find something wrong, that the news will be difficult. This appointment brought with it new worries. Would we feel comfortable with a new doctor?  Since Charlie is battling a nasty cough/cold, I was worried she would be extra grumpy. But Dr. Rein was kind and patient and Charlie was (mostly) quiet and patient, too.  While he was doing the ECHO he said, “Charlotte, do you know you have a beautiful heart?” Tears immediately sprang to my eyes.  Just one day after surgery one of her doctors had said, “Her heart looks beautiful!”  Her tiny little heart that was knit together broken and weak.  Her tiny little heart that needed TLC and help just to function properly. Her tiny little heart is a beautiful heart! Oh, Charlie…may we see you grow into your beautiful, special heart. May it beat long and may you know the love of Jesus so that it can spill out of your beautiful heart to all who meet you. My girl has a beautiful heart."
