For the Mojo Monday challenge at ScrapArtist

Perhaps I have not taken the challenge as literally as it could be taken, it is however something that as a family we treasure and honour.

I chose to journal about the incredible gift my girls have been given by their grandparents and great-grandparents (they have three still living), the gift of words. Written and spoken, my girls frequently get notes from them, they talk to them on the phone regularly and hear the wonderful stories that I was also blessed with during my childhood. They hear about how it was for them growing up, how different things were. And most importantly of all how much they are loved.

Journalling reads:
my girls you are truly blessed to have the grandparents and great grandparents you do, for they are the tellers of stories, the readers of books, the wordsmiths who have given you a gift greater than any other. prized by king and pauper alike, more precious than gold, rarer than any diamond to be found. for you are the daughters, the grand-daughters and great grand-daughters of memory keepers, it is they who have given you a rich family story through their written and spoken words. for it is they who have given you both a gift and a love of words. so precious is this gift. one that to grow must be nurtured, cherished and defended. one that requires to be passed on to future generations so that they too shall know the gifts unending joy for all time. you have the gift of the written word so you are able to learn and rejoice in lives lived well. of memories not found in history books, of lives lived quietly, unassumingly but who to those who remember them and those who allow others to remember them also will remain alive forever.
Oh man! This is awesome - LOVE the journaling. This would be a great first page to an album. Love this!!!
