I have basically used only one kit, splitting the different colors of papers and elements into the separate halves of the layout, all the browns to the left and all the turquoise and purplish colors on the right. I used one-half of the edge element on the left, applying a style to change the color, and I used a stoke edge on the right colored to match the wordart. The pictures are of of my Grandmother. On the left, she is standing outside the one-room schoolhouse where she taught when she was just 16. She was born into a family of 13, members of a small community and received a fifth grade education. That, plus the fact that the family was large and she could be spared from working the fields, gave her the opportunity to teach others to read and write. On the right is a photo taken shortly before she died, one of my favorites, showing her playing a guitar. I have done the left in what I call heritage style and the right side I call artsy, The wordArt is from a kit by Jumpstart Designs,
Mourning Birds. Everything else is from a beautiful kit designed by Karen (Kakleid Designs) called
Mild Nature. My grandmother left this world almost 45 years ago, but I still miss her more than words can express.
