Not Before Coffee by Jen Yurko
Journaling reads: I woke up already humming with that pre‑coffee anxiety, the kind that makes the light seem too bright and my thoughts too quick. Meanwhile, my cat was on the bed doing everything in his power to pretend morning wasn’t happening - face mashed into his paws like he could block out the universe. By the time the coffee started brewing, I was pacing like a cartoon character needing their caffeine fix, when he finally cracked one eye open with the weary tolerance of someone who allows me to live here.
