Blending the background photo - 1. merge two blending masks together. 2. when I blended over the striped paper (which I really wanted to use) I didn't like what it did to the photo, so ... I added a duplicate photo underneath, recolored it with solid gray paper, then blended my top photo ... and liked the look much better!

The blending big picture is great! Love that harbor pictures are beautiful.
