I've never in all my years on this planet wanted life to move faster than it is right now. As of Wednesday next week, hubs is out of a job. There's talk of a 30 day extension and a furlough - but they've been talking about it for over a month now and still nothing has been decided. Meanwhile, he's been trying to get hired elsewhere. He got notice of a video interview, but it's not happening until mid-January. Mom had her 2nd knee surgery today (it went fine as far as i've heard so far today) and she's ticked I can't come over and help out. A) She's not getting out of the hospital until saturday or sunday. B) my sister will be there by saturday to help her out for a WEEK. 3) i'm pinching pennies here, dammit, because HELLO, nick's out of a job next week? which is why my sister is going this weekend instead. but.that's.not.good.enough. Nevermind the fact that, ya know, my dad is right there in the same house with her as well as my brother!

I'm so aggravated. The job process isn't happening fast enough and I can't move out of mom's "range" fast enough... I need a few more hundred miles between us :p

Dang, I wish those interviews would have happened sooner, Jen. What a frustration for you, not to mention that you're dealing with holidays on top of everything else. I hope Nick finds something quick, and that you can get that move you've been hoping for. Hang in there....soon you'll be looking back on this and will find that you survived better than you thought you would :)

Jen, your situation doesn't sound enviable at all and there is nothing more aggravating than time that won't move fast enough. Best of luck :)

oh Jen this does not sound good at all. Job hunting this time of the year is horrible and frustrating in itself and dealing with family that isn't sympathetic is not helpful. lots of hugs and thoughts for good things soon for you!!

thanks ladies... there are days where i just want to throw a 3yr old temper tantrum and say "i quit". (yesterday was one of them, actually) we'll get through it all, we always do, but the not knowing and the lack of understanding from my extended family is driving me crazy

Jen......so sorry for all that is going on in your life and the lack of understanding on you family's part.

I often feel like chucking a temper tantrum and throwing it all in when it comes family,so you are not alone there.

Jen it sounds like you have more going on than most people could handle in a lifetime let alone a short span of time. I am so sorry for all you are going through and I sympathize with you. It certainly does not help when family adds to the problem instead of offering to lighten the burden! Sending some good thoughts, and well wishes your way.

Temper tantrum sounds like a good idea. . . . until I remember that I have kids and THEY are the ones who throw temper tantrums, not adults. Whoever made that rule should be banned from making rules for all time!

I agree, maybe I should break the rules just this once and get one good tantrum in before the kids get out for winter break tomorrow, lol. The house next door to my parents' house opened up for rent and now both my Dad and my brother are all "He should apply at brookley, they're hiring... airbus is hiring too... you could live right next door! Austal is hiring as well *hint hint* *nudge nudge*"

Uh. No. No no no. Those jobs have been put down to the bottom of the list as a last-ditch-desparation-move. Plus, if Nick were to end up at Austal, he would be working with my Dad ... or... my first ex-husband depending on which side of the company he worked on. So bad, on so many levels o_O
