anyone from Thailand or been there?

My family will be traveling to Thailand and Cambodia the first of May.. has anyone been there and have any suggestions for traveling? We won't be spending much time in Bancock but more in other small areas including rainforests and ruins.

This sounds like an AMAZING trip! Unfortunately, I've never been to either country, so I'm not much help. I think the culture would be fascinating...anything "eastern" is just so interesting to me. I did get to go to China...such completely different worlds. Are you going over for a specific reason...or is this a dream trip (lol, not that that isn't a good enough reason on its own *grin*)

We loved visiting Thailand but stayed in Bangkok so don't know about traveling outside of there. If you like fabric... there is alot there. I love the silks!!

One thing... make sure your shots are up-to-date for the area. I took packets of hand-wipes and small tissue packs as there is not always water or toilet paper available. I also had a around-the-neck and beneath the clothes hanging pack for my passport and money. I had a fannypack that I used for a purse and only put enough money in it for the day.

My brother and sister-in-law go to Thailand once a year to all the remote areas and absolutely love the place.
So I figure if you want to keep going back it must be a great place to see.

Thanks so much, Faye we are traveling for fun. My oldest son decided he wanted to go for a big trip before he goes into med school this fall. He picked Thailand and we decided to go with him. We will be backpacking around the country, staying in treehouses resorts won't be taking any luggage except backpacks as we will be doing a lot of biking and hiking. We traveled to Vietnam to adopt my youngest daughter and stayed in Bangkok waiting for her visa. We didn't do much sight seeing as we were just wanting to go home at that point. I am hoping that this trip will be a lot more fun.
We are taking our three youngest kids, 2 sixteen year olds (our adopted kids) and then my oldest son that is going into med school.
