Are you a football fan? I'm in America, so football is the kind with the pig skin, not the black and white ball.... (LOL!)

Husband is a huge college football fan, so I'm stuck listening to it on the TV all day on Saturdays. He semi likes pro football, too, which is on Sundays. I don't mind a game or two, but all day, with teams I really don't care about, drives me bonkers.

When we were dating, he and I had a "game" between us to see who would pick the better teams. He knew the statistics, and ins and outs of the game, so he knew who SHOULD be winning which games.... i know very little, and really don't care, so I always picked my teams by colors.... yep. I looked at the team colors and pitted them against each other. For example, when the Bengals were playing, the opponent was always my pick, because I do not like orange. Lol. It would really tick him off when I would go 11-0 for the day of games or 10-1 or something similar. It happened a lot! Lol!

So anyway. If I'm going to watch a football game, it's pretty much only Arizona State University Sun Devils, or the Arizona Cardinals for pro-ball. Other than that, I could go without. Some people make an all day affair of every game for the day, with snacks, beer/beverages, get togethers with friends... there are betting pools between friends and even Co workers sometimes. Jerseys are part of Sunday uniforms at local restaurants sometimes. But, meh. It's just noise for me.

How about you?

We are Ohio State Buckeye fans, but two of our kiddos are in marching band and have competitions almost every Saturday.

Today the weather was 48 degrees and almost non-stop rain. My husband stayed home with our two younger daughters who didn't need to be out in the weather while I went to the competition. Every time the score was announced over the loudspeaker at the competitions, I was kinda glad I was sitting in the cold rain instead of watching the Buckeyes struggle. My daughters said Daddy was yelling a lot and wasn't happy for a lot of the game today. OSU won, but I hear it wasn't pretty.

We don't watch much professional football, but my husband watches other college games if we are home.

I have made a lot of scrapbook pages while watching football games and if I host a crop during football (or basketball season) the OSU game always has to be on or I wouldn't have any customers show up!

I need more real life scrapping friends. .. and probably older children for this. Lol! Toddlers think football is cool for only about the time it takes them to say "Touchdown" .... lol!!!

When my kids were in school, we went to all of their games (football, lacrosse & soccer), and I loved that, but that's where it stopped. We're not big sports fans at all. Not that we don't like sports, but we don't watch them on TV. I'm married to a Dutch guy that doesn't "get" football (which is totally fine with me). My kids all still love watching sports on TV, so we usually get together for superbowl Sunday, but that's the extent of it, and I'm not complaining :)

We have a Samoan son that we adopted.. When I was leaving the airport in Samoa and his birthmom was saying goodbye the last thing she said to me was make him play football haha.. I said well if he wants to then I will let him..
He has been playing since he was 4 and not only does he like it but he loves it, eats, drinks and sleeps it. This past summer he was involved in a couple of college recruiting camps that were really cool and we are hoping that he can have the opportunity to play college ball even though we are very late in the game.
So.. between him and my 2 nephews our summers, and fall are full of football. everyday and every weekend... I love watching him succeed in it and I love that he loves it. We love to watch both professional and college ball as well..

I do not mind super bowl parties eother. Something about getting together with other people makes it bare able :)

Watching school games I did enjoy, especially when I knew a player. Going to games is different than watching them on TV. I would go to a game any day of the week, if someone else bought the ticket. Lol!

When I was going to ASU (fall of 2003), I worked at the stadium as "security". I mostly guarded the 6-7 flags at the top, from what I remember, but I watched a lot of ASU football. Got to work the Cardinals games on Sundays, too. (At the time, they played in the same stadium.)

We are huge footy fans, being an aussie footy for us means AFL - Australian Football league and NRL - National Rugby League. In fact we just had our AFL Grand Final onSaturday, 98,000 fans at the MCG in Victoria which is 700km from where I live so we had a few friends over, fired up the BBQ and watched it on TV. We also had our NRL Grand Final on Sunday which was awesome and also watched the rugby world cup (rugby union) where Australia thrashed England ...go the wallabies!!! So its been a massive footy weekend ....lucky it was a long weekend so had Monday off work :)

Deaspite football (soccer) being our national game we both hate it and never ever watch it. We are strictly either motor sport fans or baseball. Though we are int he UK my hubby has followed the same baseball team for over 30 years

We loved being at the game tonight. I felt like a college kid again! Walking through the tailgating, the whole game day atmosphere. It was just awesome. Can't wait to scrap it. Lol!!

Oh funny you bring this up! I could live without the noise on most weekends! But I will sit sometimes and watch The Cardinals - I just love Larry Fitzgerald, he is like moving magic.

I was born in and raised mostly in Nebraska so I am definitely a Husker fan! You cannot really exist fully as a Nebraskan unless you are a Husker fan. When we lived in California for five years, we even found a bar that had been taken over by Husker fans so we went to watch games there with other displaced Nebraskans a couple times.

I think this speaks to the fact that football is a sport in which you should be surrounded by a group to get the full enjoyment. :D

On our drive home from the game, hubby had to listen to the "post game" talk on the radio.... which I find super annoying. (We just watched the game, why must we now analyze every single detail about it??!?) And then this rolls in to analyzing what they will do for the next game. Why does anyone besides the coach and team players need to have an opinion on this?! Just don't get it. Lol
