We have had such a nice day. My son and his girlfriend were headed to Iowa late last night, but the freeway at Evanston, WY was closed, and not expected to reopen until today. So, they turned around and headed back to Utah. That meant they got to come to our house for dinner. I have to admit, I wasn't broken hearted *grin* They've headed east again, so I'm praying that they don't run into bad roads again.

We had great food, great conversation (our little 2 year old granddaughter is so hilarious...she keeps us laughing all the time), and best of all....none of the family drama that seems to have been the joke on lots of TV commercials here lately. We played Rumikub after dinner....and after the kids left, I TOOK A NAP :p That seriously felt great.

I'm Canadian, so we celebrated Thanksgiving back in October! Yesterday was just an ordinary Thursday! Except for all the Black Friday sale emails arriving in my inbox! ;)

I love how this is a community of scrappers from around the world, and we can respect and wish each other happy holidays of whatever we celebrate!

DH and I had a quiet Thanksgiving. We are so thankful that DH was dismissed from the hospital before the holiday. I fixed turkey, dressing, gravy, and cranberry. Packaged up some leftovers {a couple of meals worth] and stuck them in the freezer. Will have the last of the unfrozen turkey meat for sandwiches today. Will be fixing turkey and dumplings in a week or so.

We were able to travel to see all of the grandparents and some cousins. We were quite grateful for the 50+ degrees in the Midwest...this time of year travel can be dicey!

Sounds like fun, Emily! My son headed for Iowa on Wednesday night, but the freeway was closed east of Evanston, Wyoming. They came back to Utah, ate Thanksgiving dinner with us, then headed out again Thursday afternoon. They got to Des Moines on Friday, then turned around and started the drive home on Saturday because another storm was coming in & they didn't want to get stuck in the middle of it. They mostly beat the storm, but had some horrible roads the last couple of hours. I think that's the last time they'll drive that way during the winter :) The roads in Wyoming are terrible - lots of blowing & drifting snow.

That is so much driving!! Yeah, I think I'd heard there were some road closures. Two of my siblings don't travel in the winter just because it seems like there are too many variables. Even between Minnesota and Iowa it gets iffy!
