I have to vent...
My youngest son has been handed the biggest **** sandwich the last 3 weeks. He is a VERY social person. He has a ton of friends, so not being able to go to school or hang out with any of them was the first blow. He went to the local pond to fish it a few times before the stay-at-home order came down from the governor on Friday. The pond is right behind his best friend's house, so I know there was some sneaking around happening, but I didn't mind because both of them know and do keep to the 6ft rule. Then his girlfriend broke up with him over the weekend. He was "in love", so that was a real kick in the nuts for him, even though they are remaining friends (which I think is going to be even harder for him that not staying friends). The biggest blow came this morning. He applied for and was accepted to a Flight Academy - full scholarship, all expenses paid - 8 week course to learn how to fly and earn a pilot's license. This was supposed to happen this summer, and he got the email this morning saying it was canceled, and this was the last summer he can qualify for it (he'd been passed up 2 years in a row already because of an age requirement).
I know he's not the only one dealing with these kinds of things, but as a parent, it's hard to see him have to deal with everything coming at him - or not coming at him, as the case has ended up being so far. Is anyone else in the same boat? I know there are a lot of seniors missing out on prom and graduation this year. Nicky is a junior this year, so he's not missing out on senior activities, just everything else
