I was sick last week. Nick has been too - he actually went to the clinic on Saturday and got himself diagnosed with "acute bronchitis". He's still sounding like a dying walrus, so he'll probably be going back when his RX runs out this week. Anyway. So with the lack of motivation to do much of anything last week, I tv-and-audible-binged in a big way.... I finished out Season 9 of Doctor Who, caught up on The Originals & The Vampire Diaries, watched all of Jessica Jones, and blew thru the first series of Sherlock. I just won't go into the over 60 hours of audiobooks I've blown through in the last week too.

And I can't seem to stop yet, lol. Unfortunately, I have an addict gene in my personality somewhere :/ (soooo glad it's tv & books instead of cocaine or heroine lol!)

I'm finding myself comprimising with myself this week.... like, "if you do this then you can watch ONE episode of something afterwards..." It's totally sad & pathetic.

Anyone else have over-the-top obsessions that they have to go cold-turkey on in order to get back to "normal" life? Or am I the only weird one that knows nothing of moderation? lol

We (me, Sam & the boys) just went through all 5 seasons of Falling Skies - maybe now I can get back to real-world stuff - or not!

I binge watch Netflix a little, late at night when I can't sleep. Luckily I don't have that addictive gene in my make-up because I can go for weeks without bothering with it. The series I start to watch are still there regardless of whether I see them now or later.

Lol, the only time I REALLY binge watch is if I'm sick. I can watch TV and work at the same time (I have a TV in my office...can't stand watching it on my monitors *grin*). My hubby says that I don't really watch tv...I just listen to it - sad but true. Once in a while, if I'm really interested, or watching something that has subtitles, then I take a break and watch, but that's rare. I'm just getting through "making a murderer". Not sure what I think about that whole story.

I started watching Dr. Who a few weeks ago, but never kept it going. Last year, I binge watched every episode of several British TV Shows (yup, I'm kind of a British TV junkie. Love several of their dramas, but I especially love the British sense of humoUr ;) Anyway, I watched 3 seasons of Miranda, The Cafe, The Wrong Mans (LOVED James Corden in that way before he was the golden boy here in the US. They have some fantastic detective series...I've watched many of them (Hinterland, Vera...and then a series I can't remember the name. It's something like 5 days, or 36 hours or something - two different ones that goes over the same timeframe in several different people's lives when a crime is committed. LOVED that one. Lol, but not enough to stop working to watch it and pay attention to the series name *grin*). Lol, you can watch those one without a lot of guilt, coz it's just a few episodes, and then it's finished :)

So, you're not alone in binge watching. That's what the streaming industry has done to all of us....but I do think you might have me beat a bit ;)

Fayette we watch a lot of British TV in our house, Foyle's War is one of our favorites! I know a ton of people with that addictive gene, I don't have that, but when I was on maternity leave binge watched Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Once Upon a Time and How I Met Your Mother. I hope you guys start feeling better soon! I am now just about over my 2 month long sinus infection. It's nice to almost smell again :)

Person with VERY addictive personality here!!! Although I have learned to control it a bit in my later years, it still comes out with the Netflix shows. We really like the British comedy/sci-fi - Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, Dr. Who, etc.

I have to say the Brits know how to do it right, lol. Unfortunately, I can't control my addiction. Eventually it will peter out - probably end of the month after the rest of my actually-on-tv-not-netflix shows have all started back up with their winter premieres & I can go back to watching over a 'lunch break'. Until then, I won't be getting much designing done (good thing I'm ahead right??) :p

Okay I think your addiction is perfectly normal (big smile) kind of sounds like mine with Hulu and Amazon Prime - but then I listen more than I watch also :)

Well I don't have a niche to watching series although some of my friends keep harping at me to watch ..oh um, is it called Game of Thrones???? They told me it's very addicting and yet even though I have no clue what that series is about (midevil???..did I spell that right? LOL), I don't find the urge to want to watch it or even "go there!" I DO love watching movies on HBO though...eh I know that doesn't count. ;)

game of thrones is it.... i'm actually almost done listening to book 2. we don't get HBO and they won't put it on netflix so i haven't seen the show. according to several friends, the show takes a turn away from the books, so i don't think i want to see it anyway lol

The man is on a criminal minds tear here lately, watching it every night on netflix.... and he isn't one to binge like that lol. Every time I watch it, I keep expecting dude to say "Hello... My name is Inigo Montoya..." I said as much the other night to Nick, and he says "Why? Why would you be waiting for that?" Because he IS Inigo Montoya? Hello? He didn't even realize...lol
