Seasons

Here in Utah fall is starting and I have a love/hate relationship with it . I absolutely love sweater weather, the gorgeous colors fall brings to Utah and the smells that start hitting the lotion and candle shops
But, it means the dreaded cold winter and snow is soon to follow, which I love the first beautiful white blanket of but why those temperatures start to go down I dream of tropical islands and beaches and sunshine each and every day...

Love/Hate. I can't be satisfied haha

what season do you love and those of you that live in different areas of the world what is it you have there and what do you love/hate about it ?

I'm with you, Tracy, I dread the white stuff. It's beautiful to look at, and fun for a week or two, but then I want it gone I love every season but winter. I used to say that spring is my favorite, but there are so many things that are beautiful in each season that I just love them all now. Lol, and well, the fact that I don't like to be cold helps explain why winter isn't making my "favorites" list

But as time goes on, I find myself longing for the next season to arrive. Right now in New Mexico, we are still hot in daytime but have cooler nights. I long for the cool crisp days of autumn to arrive. I am ready to pack away my summer shorts and tees and bring out the sweaters and long pants. I love seeing the leaves turn colors as Mother Nature paints new vistas for us.

The only time I 'hate" [actually just get tired of] a season is near the end of Summer and near the end of Winter. So looks like Spring and Fall maybe my favorite seasons as they both slide into summer and winter with abrupt changes.

Here in Aus we are in Spring which I love....but heading for another long, hot Summer, which I hate......not because of the heat but because of the humidity we get......
I want to come visit you, Tracy and Faye, to see the glory of Autumn, (our trees like to keep their leaves and stay green...stupid trees!) experience Halloween, with all the kids dressed up and houses decorated, and see the fluffy, white stuff that you both hate.
If only I wasn't so terrified to get on that plane and fly there by myself. I'mSoFrustrated

Julie, maybe we should fly to Aus to see you and then fly back here with you to us and then we can see your beautiful country and you see ours I have always wanted to see your part of the world too!!

I agree with Tracy...you could always fly back with us (lol, but that would mean you'd have to fly home alone *grin*) I don't mind waiting until later next year for our trip. Lol, I definitely don't wanna come over in the middle of the hot, humid summer Do you have vacation in the end of September early October? That's when the leaves are the best colors here. We could come over there early and travel around a bit, then meet up with you if you have time off

I'm on holidays now....school broke up on Friday 16th September and goes back on Tuesday October 4th.....so I would assume it would be around the same times next year...give or take a couple of days. Then Tracy could come to Australia and fly home with me...lol.
You can see how flying scares me. I just need someone to hold my hand!

Lol, well, if you're not going to fly home with us, then we may make the trip in our spring, your autumn, if you think that would work. I'll have to go back and look at your message to see when you said you had time off It's getting close enough that we need to start looking for airfare!

I'd love to fly back with you Faye.....so you could hold my hand...lol. I just have to get the courage to fly back by myself and getting through LA without getting lost or on the wrong plane and ending up who know where......

For me here in Belgium we have beautiful autumns, although it often rains LOL. This year was against a heat reccord 31 ° Celsius last week!
I like the winter but also more snow for years and that's a shame!
The course was the holiday period pleases me too, el spring with the awakening of nature and all the pretty colors.
In short every season is beautiful and I like them all

As I am aging...I think Autumn would have to be my favorite....summer is great with the kids, but I find myself liking the shade more than I use to. Since we endure winter for at least 5 months of the year here, it's not allllll bad, driving is by far THE WORST. But on the days we stay home and have the ability to get suited up for sleds and snow...it's not all bad, still not my favorite though. The kids are getting into skating and hockey, so it is going to become more routine in our house to want to get out and play in the cold weather. Fall is pretty, and you can still be outside without freezing too much, and there is always hot apple cider or hot chocolate!!

i odnt like extremes - extreme heat or extreme cold - not sure which is worse.

i get cold so easily and when weather is above 80 its too hot for me.

Here in my part of NZ we don't get snow and our winters are quite mild. I love all the seasons, but I particularly enjoy snuggling up in front of the fire on a wet, windy day.

I love autumn. I'm a runner, and autumn has perfect running weather! Not too hot, not too cold. In the winter, I will run outside (with the proper gear of course) in temperatures down to -20℃, as long as it isn't icy. I won't run on ice - too dangerous. That said, where we currently live, we have fairly mild winters, with only a handful of days below -10℃ each winter. In the summer, when it gets to +30℃, I choose to run indoors on a treadmill - I don't deal well with heat and humidity when running! As I always say, in the winter, I can at least put on more layers to be warm. In the summer, I can only strip down so much to be cool!

So autumn is my perfect running season. Temperatures normally in the teens (Celcius of course), not too much humidity, solid footing. Spring is nice too, but tends to have a lot more rain, which isn't fun to run in unless it's a warm rain.

We had +33℃ here this past Thursday. That was very warm for September!

I love the changing seasons and where we are int he UK we don't get really bad winters. It is rare to have snow and we are probably the sunniest part of the UK but I LOVE autumn. I love the colours ands the light that you only get in Autumn.

But I like winter too

Where do you live in the UK? My Mum was from Manchester and I have an Uncle in Edinburgh.

I am in the middle of the south coast. When you see a map of the U.K. there is a small island off the south coast in the middle
I am on the mainland just to the left if that in Poole

it it is the California of the U.K. ??????

I love summer. Relaxing in the sun, swimming. Having our daughter and grandsons down to visit and spending so much of the time outside. But I love scrapping fall. The colors when I find them just get me taking a million pictures. I think I need to make a fall book, as right now I've got at least 20 layouts for this fall - so far!
