For the
4/16 Art of Memories Challenge, we were asked to create a layout with a gallery of 3 to 5 emotive images, and to optionally include words or a title for each of those images.
To create this layout, I started with a chunky white oval frame from Blue Heart Scraps, that is part of a Pickleberrypop collaboration kit. I placed my three photos in the frames and then arranged them with consistent framing between them. The girl in the photos is wearing a navy and white striped shirt, and I wanted to carry that contrast into my layout, by using a navy paper as the primary background paper.
Everything other than the white oval frame is from Blue Heart Scraps' I'll Stand By You Bundle. I overlaid a pink to navy ombre paper over the background, and then used a gradient layer mask to restrict the ombre effect to just the top 1/3 or so of the page. Then I set this layer to 70% opacity.
Next, I selected three word strips, one to go under each of the photos: "You Are Fierce," "You Are Worthy," and "You've Got This." I placed flowers in matching colors to accent each of the frames and tucked a leaf under each of them.
I added a multi-colored striped paper as a border along the bottom of the layout, as a play on the stripes of the girl's shirt, and to unify the colors in the layout. I also added a diagonally striped aqua and white paper behind the frames, and used a dual gradient layer mask to make the aqua and white paper appear to be dimensional, almost like a 3D hanging rail for the gallery of photos.
Then, I added the title: "brave." I added a row of chevrons leading to the title, tucked a bow above the chevrons but below the title, and finished everything off with a puffy heart.
