Hello everybody,
Such an interesting thread. I love reading about all of your hobbies. You are so active! I would like to have my own garden as well. Unfortunately, we live in a flat without a garden. But it has at least the balcony and I usually prepare it for a warm weather. I love to plant differents plants, we have a wine grapes in big clay flowerpots there and nice cozy area. It looks very nice. When it is warm outside I am used to sitting there and reading a book. Reading books is my favorite hobby. Two years ago I bought a new bookcase for our living room, because I had a lot of books and I didn't have a space for them. Anyway, I am afraid it will be full soon :-D
My other and newest hobby nowadays is studing the English language. I've been attending English school since October and I learn every day at home as well. I listen to podcasts every day and try to understand native speakers. I think I've made a small progress, but I am still not at the level, I want to be. Lately I decided to stop studying at school, because there is too much grammar and I really haven't had more capacity for it. On Wednesday it will be the last day at school. I am sure I will be missing my classmates and a teacher Michael a lot but I need to expand my vocabulary right now. Keep your fingers crossed for me. That's my biggest hobby right now. I hope that by this time next year I will be able to speak with native speakers / or someone abroad who has good English / without fear and stress :D I've really been working hard on it.. I might start learning another language when I achieve my English goal,, who knows :)

That's an amazing hobby/goal, Erika! After going to Holland and sitting there trying to decipher what they were speaking about, and not being very successful, I decided it's time to do something about it. (I can understand a bit of Dutch, but rarely get the details in the conversations. I can speak very little.) So, as soon as we got home from The Netherlands, I started a course to learn conversational Dutch (lol, I don't want grammar!) I just need to be able to participate in conversations, or at least understand them. I'm sure you are much better at speaking English than you give yourself credit for. Good luck with it!

This is a challenging goal, as I've heard from many friends who speak English as a second language have said. Your sentence structures are pretty darn good, so you don't have far to go. Does watching American t.v. help? I don't know what's available to you in Europe, but if there's anything I can do help you, I'd be happy to. :)

I can understand you,, it't not so long time ago when I understand many words in spoken English text BUT I couldn't chatch the content, because of a speed and my poor vocabulary. Now it is a little better but I will be patient, because someone said it would take 2 years to learn a new language / if you learn intensive /

Oh yes, Beth, we have many TV shows available on Netflix or HBO and ususally I watch everything in English but it is still a quite difficult for me. I found out I am at an A2 level, I found a great English teacher on Youtube who has been recording tons of videos and podcasts at all levels of English. Can you imagine how I was happy when I realized I understood everything he said? :-D I always had a problem with my listening skills and he speaks slow and understandably wich very helps me comprehend... But I am happy I can understand you, native speakers, at least in written form,, and I can answer you without a translator :)

Learning a second language can be fun. I tried Russian recently because I have a student in my classroom who just came to the U.S. from Russia and has VERY limited English. Poor girl. I got stymied on day one of my attempt because the alphabets are so different. Thank heaven for technology...we gave her an iPad that can translate text from Russian to English, but I gave up.

Wow, I love that you all have more talents than just what we see here! :)

In addition to digiscrapping, I enjoy reading a lot. Also cross-stitching and embroidery. I sometime color, make jewelry, sew, and play with Legos when I "get the notion." I should really make time for more of those hobbies.

I also crochet. Specifically, I crochet blanket and enter them into the Missouri State Fair. I've placed in the top 3 every year I've entered. It's lots of fun and excitement when we go to the fair to see if I've won!
